I dont think it will be shutting down soon, it could be that it does not receive more updates tho.
But i came back to it recently and im rly enjoying.
The problem is not hunt and devour per se, problem is that those are without rotation for too long i think a new expedition rotation would benefit the game
The power system also turns me off big time from playing Eternal. I love the game, but I hate how often I have to play non-games because of the obsolete power system the game has. Too much power-screw/flood, too much variance. It feels like the game is playing against you.

It's almost like... liking something is subjective or something.... lol
And rather than coming up with new cards and allowing these mechanics to age out of the game they just keep making more and more of them. The devs don't listen to the players at all.
To that i can agree, specialy about hunt, devour is okay.
