Gauntlet Bosses are just HORRIBLY designed
I don't have many words to express this crap in with my English to be honest...

Why does gauntlet bosses even exists? They don't change your playstyle at all. They are just annoyances and pure RnG.

Double damage? Seriously? First round, plays a 0 power 5/5 unit that deals 10 damage. What if he has 3 of that card in his hand?

I wouldnt' care much if bosses weren't blocks behind 2 silver chests... Without that reward, gauntlets are usually time wastes.

Can you kindly remove "boss" concept from gauntlet and let me play this game casually and peacefully against AI ? Thanks.

Note: If you came here to say "Just play PvP", please don't bother as i obviously don't want to play that mode.

No. The whole point of Gauntlet is for it to have a boss.

Without a boss, it would just be "Practice." which exists.

Do you have any counter argument? Why would Gauntlet have a senseless boss? If it must have, then bosses must be designed logically, instead of stupidly.

And there is no practice mode lol

My impression has not been that Direwolf wants to encourage endless casual gauntlet-farming.

A user on Reddit has compiled the AI deck lists from The Gauntlet. If it helps, take a look at what the bosses are running and use that knowledge to play around their powerful plays. As far as I know, the list is updated as current as possible.

I agree, guantlet boss is pure annoying, no fun value even if you happen to win. At the very least it should give an extra repeat chance

Here's 2 decks that I run which are fairly fun and fast to play, and are getting very satisfactory win rates in Gauntlet. just make sure to not keep playing the same deck, after a while the algo is made to go into God Mode and make you irritated into doing something radical like... i dunno... but yeah, just switch or go play something else, come back after like 20 minutes to reset.

That double damage buff applies to your units as well, and the AI decks use cards that you are free to use yourself. If it's a completely overpowered deck, make your own and see how much it isn't.

Gauntlets are NOT difficult to beat and removing the "boss" would simply turn it into "click button.. get free stuff."

However, the bosses use decks that synergize with their special effect, while the player doesn't know what the special effect will be until after they choose their deck. There is an advantage to the boss there unless you get lucky.

Of course that doesn't mean it's unbeatable.

in fact, gauntlet would be more fair if player knew the special ability of a boss before choosing the deck. so at least you can try to make advantage of the special rule for your own cards....

Wouldn't that also give away what the boss deck is, allowing the player to bring a purpose-built counter deck?

Turning the boss match from a card game into a deckbuilding puzzle is a pretty radical design proposal.

Currently it's more like throw double 6s on dice, that's not a card game either. But at least more fun.

However, the "boss" is still played by the horribly weak AI. Any advantage it has from having a deck purpose built for a special effect is more than negated by that.

Yap - you need to get quite unlucky to loose vs a boss navigated by the ai if you are running a decent gauntlet deck yourself and know how to play it ;-).
