how do you acquire the purple promo cards? is it only through crafting??

Promo cards are cards you earn by doing the daily promo-quest while the promotion is going on. If you do the quest daily you'll earn 4 copies for free. After the promotion is over, anybody who didn't earn the cards during the promotion can craft them in the collection if they want them.

The daily quest appears at 9 AM. here, which is midnight pacific time. And during promo times, the timer for promo cards resets at the same time. So, I thought it would start at that time. It was my mistake. It will most likely start today at any time, and the timer will reset tomorrow at 9 AM.

It's on now. By the way, around this part of the world, the dailies reset at around 11 PM LT.
