Compared to this game? Very different, shadowverse holds true to the typical hearthstone style class based decks and gameplay, while remianing a standout for its unique visuals and evolution feature.(Also it lacks all the rng cards from hearthstone, making it a very straight forward strategy game)
This on the other hand is more MTG meaning you will use Sigils(Aka,energies/lands) to cast spells, equipment, and summon units. The only thing that is similar for this to hearthstone is the match interface (clickable maps, two characters with 30 health) and opening packs. (maybe flying creatures too, but most abilites seem unique for this kinda game)

Edit; Oh and cards from different factions can be used in one deck. ;)

Basically what jakkkkfrost said. Shadowverse is more standard hearthstone, while Eternal is hearthstone interface with mtg mechanics (land cards, creatures heal to full every turn, assigning blockers, being able to play surprise cards on opponent's turn). Personally, I do not like these mtg-isms and consider them to be dated mechanics that are a holdover from physical card games. I'm surprised at the warm reception this game has received despite this--either many people were looking for this type of game, or it had some pre-existing fanbase that came in with strong positive opinions.

I have always loved MTG mechanics in card games but the MTG copies all had bad-mediocre UI. This is the first UI friendly MTG clone and that's why it's so good to me.

Honestly im so bored of playing hearthstone .... That this game is a piece of marvelous fresh air right on my face! It feel good, it's refreshing, it make you come back for some of us to the first TCG we ever played.

Yeah i like it ..... And because i just got 2 legendary with 4 packs :') ( Curiox, The Collector and Shimmerpack :D)

I like this over Shadowverse because you can earn in-game currency without having to face off against other players (and thus you can build decks for fun without having to face player-controlled metas). Although it's really grindy (1000 gold per pack, as opposed to Shadowverse's 100 rupies per pack).

But with 31 different faction combinations to choose from (32 if they ever get enough neutral cards to work on their own) and several ways within those combinations to theme around, this game will definitely hold my attention longer than Shadowverse has.
