theres tons of ways of dealing with it- I ran an aggro warcry deck at low levels and kicked ass but once I hit silver I was facing decks that were smoking me and doing other things that seemed OP (and werent it just appeared that way at the time)
I still keep some warcry units in my deck (and always againstthe AI) but you cant rely on it and most decks silver + have too much control and warcry isnt nearly as opas it might seem now.
-What i think is OP right now is flame blast lol- Whoknows though because im still around mid game
I made this complaint often in closed beta. It isn't even that warcry is too good necessarily. It is just too easy and too RNG. If they happen to hit their bonus on the right unit, game over. If they don't, you steamroll them. It isn't fun to lose to and it isn't fun to beat.
Or if you can't stop the early warcry units before they can get several horns on, play solid removal that will dispatch their big threats right away.
But that can be said about anything. seems like you could say that about most non control decks.
Stranger plays red/grim/Forlorn/Flying/ Deathstrikes the pumped and still has Awakened Stranger/Reckless Stranger and a feeding time in hand...
I know which player I'm expecting to see win that matchup and it's not Warcry.
Nightmare plays permafrost/lightning strike/nightmare/beast callers on the nightmare and a second permafrost/feeding time on the pumped and still has some chump blocks/removal in hand...
Again looks like Warcry isn't going anywhere soon...
Warcry is significantly more RNG based because of how the mechanic works. It is not just based on drawing the right warcry dudes early (which is where I agree with you) but also on what units are hit with that Warcry. If you happen randomly Warcry onto an aegis flyer a couple times the game randomly can end. If you warcry onto a 2/1, who cares?
It's just an extra layer of RNG over the typical "I drew my aggro hand or I didn't."
if you have 2 minions and warcry on a 2/1 well now his odds of living are so much higher. turning a 2/1 into a 4/3 for basically free is huge.. the warcry deck im using has many weapons as well and dragon who gives units charge or fly. so far it's really easy even if i don't hit by big units, but i'm also not playing at the highest level either.
beastcaller's amulet is also handy for shutting it down for the same reason. 5/5 fatty versus 2/2 outlaw or maybe a 4/4 rebel = stall for at least one turn
