What is a Meme Card or Meme Deck?

I see this term a lot, and as an old fart, just not sure what this lango is. (Jank as well, is Jank just a slang term for garbage cards? )

I did a search on the term "meme" and even other players disagree on what it means. I was looking at this deck title linked below, and I was like, ok, I need to ask and get a FINAL CLEAR asnwer once and for all :)

Normally meme is something that spreads naturally within culture.

Example: dog is called "dog" by everone. Then someone starts to call some a particular dog "doge" and people find this idea kinda funny, so they also start to post picture of this dog and they also name it "doge". After some time "doge" is known nearly by everyone, because it was so spammed by nearly everyone. Doge has become a meme.

For some reason people started to think that memes are "funny pictures with text".

In card games context meme deck is a (usually) terrible deck played for fun. Why? I don't know. Sometimes cards are so weak, that people start to make virally fun of them. In the topic you have linked Majordomo Executus and Purify are that kind of cards - those cards were considered so bad, that people were constantly making fun of them. Jokes about those cards have become a meme in this community, so decks with those cards also have become a meme (decks).

Meme/Jank decks are basically bad decks that people play for fun; caring more about making themselves/their opponenet's laugh, rather than caring about winning. They're basically joke decks.

An example of this is Light the Fuse+Excavate. This deck/combo is pretty terrible when it comes to playing seriously/competitvely. But it is extremely fun/funny when you manage to pull off a back-to-back-to-back Firebomb to kill your opponent.

Thats where Ive been getting confused, its like all the Eternal Sites, and just in life in general everything is a Meme... Its like.. does anyone even know what it means?? :)
