forge master rank is easy to farm if you dont get mana screwed
you dont need 4 legs; in fact most legs arent that good- ill leave it to you to figure that out
youll get tons of frags to craft rares- if you use that correctly you should have zero problems
think about your mistakes before ranting
no mana and opp draws perfect? well it happens
this is definatelty not p2w but it does have mana issues
The gauntlet is a breeze if you construct your decks well, even with the starting cards. It gets a bit tougher on Gold level, but still, the payout is very good. And the draft I really like as well. They had the same thing in Solforge, you draw and keep, and get more rewards if you win.
All in all, I am more worried that the devs won't make any money like this :)
But saying the default ones are that bad is a stretch to.. they arent the greatest but if you keep getting 0-1ed, something else might be wrong.
You are right on the manadraw and people have mentioned this .. but if you want to see rng at its worst, try Hearthstone :P
Where rng can decide the fight between a new player and an esports tournament winner :D
You sound like a "gimme everything right now" type of player. If you're that type of player, spend money.
This is by and large and without doubt the best free to play system I have ever seen in a game like this.
Without spending a dime I collected 100% of the common cards, 100% of the uncommon cards, 70+% of the rares and 25+%of the legendary cards ..Cant rememebr the exact number at that point but it was insane.
I spent a measley $10 AFTER I had collected what I listed because I wanted to give a little something back.
I honesly cannot believe how generous the system is and the amount of ways you can earn cards/gold.
the gauntlet just drops dead
now try again with only starting cards... yeah, not so easy anymore
im happy if i can leave with more then 1 bronze chest
yeah, so generous, 50 gold and a common for so much work
*shrugs* and thats the only thing you can do to "farm" anything
again, youre just seeing it from your "already has every single card times 4" perspective(everyone replying has at least 150hours played on steam)
its a nightmare for anyone new
cant make a good deck-> cant farm anything.-> cant make a good deck -> cant
My perspective is that of a brand new player starting with nothing and paying nothing. (as I said I spent a total of $10 a couple days ago and at that point had over 25% of the legendary cards already)- I'll gladly spend $10/month if I continue to play NOT because I have to...If i HAVE to pay in a "F2P" game I will walk...I hate f2p usually because normally it does mean p2w- not here. ButI'm happy to support a game i enjoy with a reasonable amount.
Maybe instead of assuming that everyone else is wrong (since everyone says the game is very easy to get cards in) why not assume that maybe...Just maybe...Its you who is mistaken and ask what you're doing that might not be working.
I'm sure most of us would be really glad to help you out with tips and such.
As for everyone whos replying having 150+ hours according to you- Well, maybe- You have to play to win and the more time the better your cards will be- But by that assumption, go put 150 hours into hearthstone or any other CCG and see what % of cards you can get for free- I promise you wont have 25% of the legendaries and might get lucky and have 1 or 2.
-And again , everyone here pretty much started a week ago when the game opened and even those who were in the CB test had their cards and accomplishments wiped and started fresh.
Why dont you export the deck you're using and paste it here and letsome of us try to help you and see whats up?
Edit- Also note I'm not a starry eyed fanboy and probably ♥♥♥♥♥ about the mana draw mechanic on these very forums more than anyone else...This game has its faults but greed isnt one of them.
Edit 2- I just logged in and got todays quest and a themed deck-Once a week you are given a full theme deck (this isnt made from starter cards but is a full on deck complete with rares and everything) and a gold chest (pack of cards plus 500 gold avg)
Anyhow, I'm not sure if we all get the same theme deck each week or not but todays deck for me was the rakano Glory deck- You should see what you got because this seems to be a very solid deck...I plan to make a few changes with it but I played it without tpouching anything to complete the quest and won 5 games in Silver 1 with this deck which equates to 4 bronze chests, 1 silver chest and the gold chest for the quest- Not bad for 1 quest that gives you a premade deck (with alot of good cards in it)- Now, I cant say how the other premade decks are because i never paid much attention to the last one I got but this one is certainly a nice deck and you should easily be able to beat master level in the gauntlet without needing to change a thing (and getting there will net you a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of cards, packs and gold)
I was quite easily getting to the first silver chest and some times getting the second one. Took me awhile to figure out the challace boss as i didn't know the card or the mechanic.
As SaintPhillip was stating the free deck you get for the weekly quest is really good and allowed me to start farming the Gauntlet all the way threw.
Just some advice... The begining decks are quite horrible in and of them selves and that is just my personal opinion. I haven't even played with one. The main reason for that is. The game specificly TOLD me not to play with a single faction deck. The help icon came up and said that new players should join their cards together from two factions for a first deck. This may be the problem.
Also to note. Before spending money i farmed:
94% of common cards. Not to be overlooked because they are common. Many are quite good!
91% of uncommon cards. Uncommons make up the bulk of my deck.
54% of rare cards. I think i would have higher % but i have multiples of quite a few
20% of Legendary cards. I don't think the current meta allowes the use of these. most games are over way to fast and if not most decks have a very quick and easy answer for them.
With that being said i have since spent $60 on the game as i was quite amazed with the amount of cards i was getting all the while enjoying the game.
Make use of the free duel deck from the quest. Farm the crap out of the gauntlet for 8 hours straight. After the hard core session of npc stompage go look at all the uncommon cards you have unlocked (rare if you beat the last guy) and tinker with your deck.
After about ten minutes of looking at your cards try to hold in the shock and awe as you glance up at your gold and notice that yoiu have around 15k.
By far the best FtP model i have ever played in a card game and the first i have ever spent money on. My only hope is that guys and gals at DireWolf keep this model and relize that people are alot more likely to give the money in a "TAKE MY MONEY NAOW" type of fashion than if they cut back the rewards and force people to pay.
If you are having trouble advancing anywhere, please follow my patented F2P "Guide to Guantlet Smashing!"
Steps:
1. Play forge
2. Force Rakano(Fire/Justice)
2a) Be sure to look for the cards in the decklist below
3 Use Forge wins to repeat step 2
4 Build below deck
5 Smash Gauntlet
Decklist (Zero Rares)
4 Elder's Feather (Set1 #128)
4 Oni Ronin (Set1 #13)
4 Torch (Set1 #8)
4 Argenport Soldier (Set1 #135)
4 Crownwatch Paladin (Set1 #139)
4 Ornate Katana (Set1 #23)
4 Rakano Outlaw (Set1 #20)
4 Vanquish (Set1 #143)
2 Crownwatch Deserter (Set1 #316)
4 Gilded Glaive (Set1 #125)
4 Silverwing Familiar (Set1 #152)
4 Sword of Icaria (Set1 #315)
7 Fire Sigil (Set1 #1)
5 Justice Sigil (Set1 #126)
4 Diplomatic Seal (Set1 #425)
2 Emerald Monument (Set1 #422)
4 Rakano Banner (Set1 #427)
4 Seat of Glory (Set0 #56)
After that, use gauntlet to fuel your Drafts. I do roughly two to three drafts a day using the above deck to get Gold from Gauntlet.
EDIT
Deck export didn't export Morningstar for some reason. Add 3 of those
thanks for posting an actual deck, tho a lot of weapons are missing in the basic set you get from the game
from my experience, those zoo style rush decks dont work without the weapons,
the other guy simply plays a few big health minions with endurance and youre done
atm im trying a warcry deck with slightly higher cost minions, but its missing cards at every turn
the theme deck + quest is really nice, sadly only once a week
but i wonder if its for every of the 10 factions ?
if yes, then thats quite a lot of cards tho over 10 weeks
but something to keep looking forward to
I don't know what else to tell you, I was able to scrape this together in half a day.
at first i was going to go warcry deck... i started that direction but after getting stuck at silver @ gauntlet, and bronze 2. i realized warcry really isn't the way to go. (which was a red and green deck). i was looking over my red cards and decided i could make a decent burn deck...
been grinding the whole day. finally had enough for a draft, instantly lost all 3 rounds.. grinded the white, purple, blue cards again in hopes to craft maybe a legendary card or something...
been grinding away again. but since that draft i haven't won a single gauntlet game (meaning im not even recieving a single chest) and im losing every ranked game. (just did around 15 in a row and lost every single one).
so, with every card grinded except a few, i can't win a game, so what do you suggest? i wish i didn't win the gauntlet rounds to advance in ranking... b/c now i can't win a single game.
(edited: after 10 or so losses in a row on ranked, it finally kicked me back down to bronze 1)
