questions about 2 cards.
Eye of winter. I'm destroying the AI with it. how would a real player play against it?
Spore Folk. why in the hell would anyone want to discard 5 cards?

probably missing something here lol.

1. Endurance units like Titan, Tavrod or anything with a Deepforged Plate make Eye useless. Infinite Hourglass is also a thing and you can’t stun your opponent so they can still swing with relic weapons.

2. Reanimator decks will try to dump big units in the void and try to bring them back for cheap with Grasping at Shadows or Vara. Or cards that can bring themselves back like Epheremal Wisp or Dawnwalker.

Eye of winter sometimes get run as a x1-of or x2-of in control decks. It's alright, not great not bad. I find it works well in in Hooru Control. Here's is Finkel's list which I was running last season with good success:

1 Permafrost (Set1 #193)
4 Seek Power (Set1 #408)
2 Eilyn's Favor (Set0 #24)
3 Lightning Storm (Set1 #206)
4 Vanquish (Set1 #143)
3 Eilyn's Choice (Set2 #220)
2 Eye of Winter (Set1 #210)
1 Privilege of Rank (Set1 #157)
4 Valkyrie Enforcer (Set1 #151)
4 Wisdom of the Elders (Set1 #218)
3 Auric Runehammer (Set1 #166)
3 Yetipult (Set1002 #11)
4 Harsh Rule (Set1 #172)
1 Staff of Stories (Set1 #234)
4 Throne Warden (Set1 #514)
2 Rimescale Draconus (Set1 #246)
4 Channel the Tempest (Set1 #244)
1 Sword of the Sky King (Set1 #186)
8 Justice Sigil (Set1 #126)
9 Primal Sigil (Set1 #187)
4 Hooru Banner (Set2 #216)
4 Seat of Order (Set0 #51)

There's actually quite a few decks that like running Sporefolk. Here is SirRhino's Means to an end combo deck:

There's a few other, but that is the one I've had the most success with.

Eye of Winter: Its too slow to help vs Aggro decks most of the time. If you're resorting to a Turn 3 Eye of Winter into Turn 4 stun vs Aggro, you're probably in pretty bad shape. Then there's cards like Deepforged Plate, Infinite Hourglass and Accelerated Evolution that can punish a reliance on stuns, as well as meta relevant units like Sandstorm Titan and Tavrod that come with Endurance.

Sporefolk: The boring answer is that it'll set up "reanimator" decks, paired with cards that summon units out of your graveyard. But it can do more than that:

* Priviledge of Rank will draw you two Justice Sigils if Sporefolk sends it to the graveyard.
* Stonescar Excavator deals +1 damage per use for every Power card that Sporefolk sends to the graveyard.
* Primal has access to some cards that can put a card from your hand on the top of your deck, which can set up a Sporefolk play.

You're definitely missing something. Dark decks play A LOT of cards that draw directly from the Void (Graveyard). Dark decks commonly have a LOT of control and you are actually able to CHOOSE cards that you want to play from the void. So throwing even 20+ cards into the void for a proper deck that is built around drawing from the void is an incredibly good stategy.

I've been playing a deck (stopped recently) that had tons of 'Dark Return' (draw a unit from the void and give it 1+/1+) as well as 'Memory Dredger' (when you attack with this unit, play a unit with 2 cost or less directly from the void). etc. etc. There are LOADS of cards that you can play that allow you to play what-ever you want from the void.

For green, red, yellow and blue decks you generally treat the void as a place where those cards are mostly useless if they get sent there. For black decks, you treat the void as basically a second deck, but one that you can pretty much pick and choose what you want to play.

There's even some cards that you can play that send ALL dead units and cards to YOUR graveyard. Allowing you to then bring back what-ever you want from both your own deck and theirs (that has been discarded).

tl;dr - Play some more Dark decks and check the card descrptions. Sporefolk are very, very good cards that can allow you to start drawing specific cards from your deck very early on.
