Resident Evil 7 Teaser: Beginning Hour

Resident Evil 7 Teaser: Beginning Hour

So the running button on Xbox gamepad is "L3"
Just realized that after two full playthroughs thinking I could only walk. Any way to re-map it to an actual and more normal button, I can't find an option to do so.

This is how you run in first person games.

Well, I don't know where that golden rule comes from but that's pretty stupid if they do so, considering running is one of the most basic actions you have to do everytime in virtually every game.

yea, I really despise running with L3 as well. it's just a totally awkward feeling to push in the stick while simultaneously moving it. given that option I would almost always set run to a face button or a shoulder button... sadly that doesn't seem to be an option here, as least not yet. Maybe it'll be added in a later patch, who knows?

i dont understand why they have so many keyboard options for the controls but almost nothing for the gamepad. capcom does this quite a bit in their pc ports too.

Unless i missed it in the options

My thoughts exactly. Well, I guess the actual game will have an option to re-map buttons, would be pretty bad otherwise.

I did it LOL. But pressing the left stick doesn't do anything on its own, and since this was first person horror on small environments and some folks were calling it "walking simulator", I first thought "well. maybe this guy just can't run"

why are you playing a first person anything with a game pad anyway when you have much better option of keyboard and mouse right there?

Because a great deal of people enjoy playing on the couch, even more so for the console style feeling. Playing with a controller you can get all the feelings you enjoy about playing on console, with the features and versatility of playing on PC, aka, the best of both worlds.

I've tried with keyboard, character controls are fine but real-time inventory management feels more agile and intuitive with gamepad.

I would be glad if I could swap it for example with first aid button.

Well, I ended up playing the final game with keyboard and mouse, I just had to re-bind Run to Spacebar and Block to Shift, and handled inventory management with keyboard. It felt way more comfortable that way.
