need a little hint (basement)

hello,

i found the axe but cannot defeat the monster in the basement; should i try to kill him or look elswhere?

You have to pick up the valve in the basement. Get out and go upstairs. In the bathroom there is a pipe, you can turn the water on and flush the toilet. There is the gun.

if you grab the key down there he despawns when you run away

but when i picked up the valve and got back to the door i get trapped :(
edit : hoho i didn't picked a key though^^

i got the key and the valve.the monster is still there.i know how to get out,but the damn room is so small,its a pain to avoid him -_-
