You could simply place the .dll inside the directory wich i wont recommend at all.
Check this link please, scroll down to "Method 2" wich let you manual download your Drivers, check you pick the correct one (System and CPU Architecture)
https://support.microsoft.com/de-de/kb/2999226
If you do not know wich system and/or CPU Architecture you are using please rightclick on the "My Computer" or "Computer" or whatever it's called on your desktop or Startmenu and select "Preferences" It will display your Windows Version including it's Architecture
For ex Windows 8.1
CPU Architecture x86 or x64
Greetings
EDIT: Added the Link, i'm sorry :D
Leaves, I tried installing the update for Win 7 x64 and got this in return:
"This update is not applicable for your computer"
Is it Windows 7 for your? or did you just tried out? For all with windows 10 you could try Windows 8.1 x64/x86 (based on CPU). Damage can not be done.
I installed https://www.microsoft.com/en-US/download/details.aspx?id=48145
After that error was gone, game worked fine again.
Select if x64 or x86 works 100% on Windows 10 PCs
Bro that doesn't work for us. I told you its an issue with Windows.
Hey everybody. I wanted to give my humble input on this issue, since I had it in my install of the demo and I was able to fix it. In my case, the problem ran slightly deeper than the runtime redistributable or the missing dll and I suspect it may happen to some of you as well. The core problem (as I said, in my case) was that, due to some issue with Windows 7, the Windows Update service stopped working at some point. I mean it just stopped searching for and downloading updates and the bigger problem is that it didn't throw any error message or anything. It just stopped doing its job.
What I found after fixing this problem was that the missing runtime dll wasn't supposed to come with the redistributables the game installed, since after uninstalling these redistributables I ran Windows Update (which now came up with more than 200 updates) and then tried to play the game and it ran just fine. Also the dlls were in the folder where they should be (and I couldn't find them there after I installed the redistributables before fixing Windows Update).
Long story short, what I did to solve it (I mean the problem with Windows Update) was to boot the computer in safe mode. That's it. Just boot in safe mode and then boot normally and next time you run Windows Update it should work as intended. Since it's not a very involved solution, you should just try it and see if it helps. However, you could check if this is the case for you by running Windows Update to see what it does. If you have the same problem as me, it should just get stuck "searching for updates" for longer than normal (say 10-15 minutes). Once you boot in safe mode and then in normal mode if you run Windows Update it should present you with a lot of available updates, some of which are the ones you need to run the game. I hope this helps. Leave a comment if it did (or if it didn't).
You get that message if you don't have Service pack 1 installed on windows 7, or a certain windows 8 update that I don't recall, but I believe it's listed under "prerequisits" on the windows site page where you download the drivers.
