Surround sound for headphones

If youre already using surround sound heaphones which already emulate surround, should we turn on surround sound for heaphones on in the options as well? Just wondering what some other people have chosen to do with that setting

To test, I would recommend disabling any headphone features your sound device offers, just using plain stereo sound to your headphones, then enabling the virtual surround / headphone features in the game.

Judging by the audio options, the game is offering mixing for headphones, this could conflict with headphone features that your headphone or soundcard software already offer. Try both by disabling one then the other, see what you like.

for my combination with ASUS Xonar Xense (Dolby Headphone) and my pair of AKG cans it's best to disable the virtual surround and switch to a "normal" surround sound output in game.

I'll try the ingame Virtual Surround too, but I doubt it's better than Dolby.
