Can't trigger second murder?

I pointed the hand at the first murder spot and it makes the loud crashing noise signifying it worked.

I go upstairs to the attic and look at the light but I can't get the giggle sound to occur and trigger the second murder. What am I doing wrong?

If the main game is as convoluted and random as this demo, it's going to be such a pain to complete.

Nevermind, it appears you must get the bolt cutters and VHS tape... or go through the kitchen... or something. The lack of direction is astounding.

Now I can't trigger the third. This game is infuriating.

1.Point the finger on the book case. Get bolt cutter + vhs and go the attic and look at the light to hear giggling.
2.Go to the basement take lockpick and enter the room. As soon as you take the valve run to the door and tap it (It will spawn Jack cutscene ) Don't look at it just run to the room on the right and take the key.
3.Monster will spawn and you must run from it. I find that best way is to run straight to the door and mash the use button to break through(Since it seems that monster can't attack you during animation at least do that If he spawn turning back to you or walking to the right )
(If he spawn walking to you in the room just wait for him to swing and dodge it, then run )
4. Get out of the basement and then head back (monster will despawn ) and point the finger on the corpse on the gurney.
5.Head back get the gun from batroom and shoot the painting with the lady in the bag (You will hear the giggle )

I did all that. When I shot the portrait, nothing happened.

Hmm, I wrote a guide on how to get the Good / True ending. Check it out and see if maybe you missed something to trigger third laugher. (Walthrough section)

In my experience with it, sometimes there's just nothing you can do but restart. There might be some very specific thing that triggers hitting the painting triggering the giggle, but I've never been able to fix that one except by restarting the demo.

I finally got the good ending after various tries. Got hit by the monster a couple times and couldn't get things to trigger a few other times. Glad to finally be done.

So how did you get the portrait one? I keep retrying but still can't get it :(

I did end up doing the VHS part twice.
