Jump Scares

Hi guys, quick question: are there many jump scares in this game? I am a huge fan of the original 3 RE games and this looks great!!

I have loose joints and I get really into my games and often when I jump my shoulder falls out of the joint and dislocates and it's very painful so I have avoided a lot of recent horror games because they all rely on jump scares.

Not really. Not in the demo at least. It relies a lot more on tension building and atmosphere to scare you. There are a couple parts you might jump at, but it's definitely not a jumpscare fest. It's actually very well done.

You'll be fine to play Beginning Hour, though I'd say play at low volume just to be safe. There are few scares, and the worst one is actually optional and also signaled as its happening (there's no way you wont see it coming). The actual game, however, I'd actually advise against. I've been following leaked early footage, and if you are easily scared and have medical issues on top of it, it probably wouldn't be a good idea to play it. Lots of jumpscares within the first hour that you don't really expect, some relying on imagery more gruesome than what's found in Beginning Hour. I personally don't mind it, I'm just clearing it up for you.

It absoloutely does have horrible jump scares, when you go down into the basement a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ monster smashes through the wall. I nearly ♥♥♥♥ myself.

I am mostly afraid of jump scares like in the Silent Hills P.T demo where walking in the hallway on the 10th time or whatever randomly puts an overlay on your screen of a face with a very loud screaming noise. That got me good and my arms were sore for a few days and I had to flail around in a panic until they popped back in place when it happened :( I am honestly thinking of strapping myself down tightly to a chair lol I am too big a fan of classic RE.

The demo did have some of what could be considered jumpscares but it could have been a lot worse. Watch someone on Youtube play it first if you're worried or if you have medical issues. I know the full game has at least one jump scare where you go up some stairs and the crazy lady comes out of nowhere and screams in your face. Since there's one I wouldn't be surprised if there were more.
