Save in demo?
Can you save in the demo? If so, how? I have yet to complete this without getting infected because I can't perfect getting around the mold monster. Yes, I really can't and I'm quite ashamed of it. It also tends to run rather sluggish on my computer so maybe it's not all my terrible gameplay not allowing me to get the good ending.

Getting the good ending in the beta doesn't really do anything for you in the main game...

The only thing that matters is that you figure out the easter egg and find the Dirty Coin.

The Dirty Coin just acts like an extra antique coin at the start of every new game you play... so it's basically a perminent +1 coin you earn.

When I found the dirty coin and solved the puzzle I was infected by the mold monster the entire time... you die once you climb up the ladder which is the ending of the demo and you find the coin just before that in the locked room next to the ladder.

Again, getting the good ending doesn't do ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ in the main game.... only solving the easter egg does.

I already watched someone play the full version so I mean I know what happens in the game. But it's an unfinished thing for me. I feel like I have to finish the demo. Do you get any achievement for finishing it with the good coin ending? I saw someone on youtube play it and it looked like an achievement popped up when they got to the end. As for being infected; I couldn't finish the giggles without dying first. Last time I played, I axed the hell out of the portrait and never got a giggle all the while I was infected. I was even following a walkthrough for it. I could only assume I couldn't go further because I was infected.

I finished the demo with the true ending this morning.

I can tell you how I got around the monster. *spoiler*

If you enter the basement and walk as far as the valve, then try to exit, you get blocked by the weird guy outside the door, and the monster will fall from the ceiling almost on top of you.

Instead, if you enter the basement and walk toward the next room where the key is up on the shelf, the monster will crash out of the side wall of that room on your left.

So what I did was walk into the room a little way so the monster's popping out is triggered, then ran around the hanging body so I was ready to kick it into him to stun him as soon as he appeared. When you do that, it knocks him clean into the other room, and you have plenty of time to hit the door, kick it open, and then exit before he infects you.

If you don't get that to work, the other approach is to make him fall from the ceiling, but run quickly into the room and grab the key while he is appearing from the ceiling, and then wait for him to go into the room with you where the key was, and he'll lunge at you and as soon as he does, just sprint past him and then kick the door in and exit the next room.

Remember that you can press the "X" key to do a quick 180 turn which really helps out in the basement.

I was actually following this video trying to outsmart it since I have no weapons to kill it with. I thought I had finally done it because I shielded myself with my hands (like in the full version - just to get by it) and it turns out that doesn't work here. By the time I got to the molded door towards the main house it showed my hands were infected.

I always somehow get stuck trying to get angled correctly around the bodybag to kick at it or in that back room (where the doll is) and end up getting hit instead of trying to avoid it. I think my frustration level would go down a bit if I could start the game at opening the basement door, but having to go do everything all over again every single time is too much aggravation just to try and perfect fighting this thing. I do not have that kind of patience. I even skipped doing everything else to cut down on time by only getting the fuse and basement key, but my god it takes too much effort just to go down there and get infected again. I really hate games that don't have save spots. Forcing me to restart every time makes me want to say "*ck this game; I'm done". I also had to switch to the keyboard and mouse which I really don't like when it comes to playing these types of games. But trying to run using the xbox controller is too hard and I can't even find a button that makes you do a 180 on the controller. I guess there's a lot more patient gamers out there than me.

I did it! I don't know how, but I did. Got my coin and everything. I can finally put this demo to rest. :imachamp:

You don't have to use the bodybag at all. When you enter the room, go to the place where the valve is, turn around and try to go out. The door will be blocked. Just spam F until it opens and run out. The monster won't get you.

Second time you enter, just run straight to the key, grab it and get out. The monster should barely finish spawning by the time you're out.

Just for future reference :) I did it yesterday (several times).
