Graphical problems using SSAO/ low performance
At first - I want to apologize my probably bad english ^^.

I just wanted to try out this game now but I have encountered massive graphical problems. Hopefully you can see a picture through the following link to understand what I now trying you to explain: If SSAO is activated and I'm trying to look at a lightsource (it seems to depend on that) then several circles (from red to yellow to white) emerges and grows until the whole screen is white. If I'm moving the mouse off the lightsource it becomes normal again.

This behaviour only occurs, if SSAO is enabled. Anti-Aliasing, Bloom and grain is already deactivated and has no effect on that. Texture Details are at normal. As far as I know my graphicscard is capable of doing SSAO, too.

The second problem is - although I seem to meet even the recommended sysspecs (expecting RAM a bit) the gameplay is terrfying laggy, unfortunately unplayable laggy. Is it maybe caused by my old hardware or do you have any ideas?

I'm running: AMD Phenom II X4 810 processor, AMD HD7790 1GB graphicscard, 6GB DDR2-800 MHz RAM, Windows 7 64-bit

Thanks for any help! :)

i think your CPU is the main factor as The Graphics card is more than good enough but i think the Cpu cant keep up with that card causing it to bottleneck so my guess is CPU

But I can't imagine, the bottleneck is that high, that I only have 15-20 fps (don't know how much but it feels like that). There are several games that needs much more power and doing well enough on this machine.

im not sure but i think the graphics card is having such a easy time with the game that the cpu cant keep up 20 fps im not sure though Whats the Resoloution ?

hmmmm im not to sure try bumping up the reso No joke it puts more strain on the Graphics card to slow it down so the cpu can catch up to itself so try that if ya can

@Soulwarrior, the SSAO seems to have its roots in the graphics drivers and the shader is just not coping. I'm not sure. Re the performance, have you tried running at low settings? I've had huge fps drops on my Mac when testing and I traced it to insufficient graphics memory (which by the way wasn't a problem on Bootcamp Windows on the same Mac machine). Going low overall settings will lower the textures resolution and might free up some GPU memory. I guess the drivers might be managing it poorly somehow, because otherwise 1GB is more than enough.

Oh my... that's really embarassing. It all was my fault. Just now after testing a few things I realized that the global settings in the graphics driver still was at some previously settings I have made earlier and which I've forgotten to set back - it was overwriting gamesettings with custom antialiasing and anisotropic filtering settings. Now that's all back to standard settings the game works fine even with SSAO. Very big sorry for that and thank you much after all.

I am glad we could work this out :)
