Using Bootcamp on a Mac
Recently bought Train Sim World: CSX Heavy Haul and the first time I loaded it, I created a profile and began a tutorial. The only issue was the resolution was low, so went into settings and made it higher.

Now when I restart there is something wrong with the layout, the splash screen text runs off the right hand side and the mouse cursor position doesn't correspond with where is is onscreen (i.e. to select my profile I have to put the cursor about 2 cm below the profile box for it to highlight. Also can't select any menu items along the bottom).

Contacted DTG and the reply was "Train Sim World does not support being used on a Mac, whether it has Windows running on it or not; this is why you are experiencing these issues.
You will need to play the game on a Windows PC in the future."

I'll request a refund, but just curious if anyone else running bootcamp has issues as this is the first game I've ever had problem with and been told it's because I'm using a Mac (would have thought it's irrelevant since I'm booting into a completely separate Windows partition). Train Simulator, Planet Coaster, latest Hitman all work fine?

Thanks,

This is a shame - I was about to buy TSW to run in Bootcamp on my (reasonably high spec) macbook pro. You're right that if the hardware is capable, surely they should support any Windows machine.

I think your issue might have something to do with the odd scaling settings that Bootcamp uses to support a Retina display. Maybe you could try changing the scaling to 100% or even changing the resolution via the display settings in Windows.

Either way, I'm not going to be risking the money for something that may not work and the developer refuses to support. Shame.

Hi,

Just on the off-chance you were still hoping to play this game using Bootcamp...I've found a solution. This is also the only thread that Google brings up about this issue so hopefully it'll help someone.

I had the same issues, the game worked fine the first time but then having quit and restarted it, the screen was completely unusable. Lots of messing with it and the solution is as follows;

1) You need to set the in-game display 'Windowed Full-Screen'. The in-game resolution box will grey out
2) Prior to starting the game through Steam (assuming that's what you're using), you need to set the native display resolution using Start Menu-Settings-System (in Windows) to your desired one
3) Start the game

You can change the resolution in game by using the 'command' key and setting it through the same Windows master resolution. Note that if you do this, you'll need to change it back to the resolution you booted the game with, If you don't the menus won't display correctly.

I've done this a couple of times and had no issues. FWIW I'm using a 3.8ghz 2017 27" iMac and I've got the Scale & Layout (in Windows display settings) set to 225%. I can run the game at 2560x1440 with all the settings maxed out and get 30fps consistently. If I up it to 4K resolution I'm getting about 20fps.

Hope that helps someone.

Cheers
