CSX Heavy Haul PC - Missing Reverser handle in Tutorial

Hi all,

I'm asked to put the reverser in the Forward position but the handle is not there. There is a note on the console that says "Reverser handle must be removed when unit is in trailing position" so I assume that the handle is somewhere in the cab? Pressing the W keyboard key doesn't change anything either. Game bug or code 18 from my part? Thanks!

If you want a really good train sim try DERAIL VALLEY its awesome not like this crap.

I couldn''t find any tutorial where the handle is not already present, but didn't try all of them though.

But as far as I remember it's something like you have to click with the mouse where the handle is supposed to be to insert it. You don't need to look for it first.

If you can, let me know which of the tutorials you are trying and I will see if I end up with the same problem as you.

Thanks for the help! From the main screen, scroll left and click "CSX Heavy Haul" (hope you have it). Click "Training" then "Intro Sequence" module. Once you're in the engine, you will first turn on the head light and then you're asked to put the Reverser in the forward position (missing handle/lever). You either click on the button/arrow or use the W key. When pressing the W key I see a popup message telling me that the Reverser is in the Idle position and pressing W or S doesn't change anything. I though I'd ask my colleague in the cabin with me but the SOB keeps eyeballing me with no intention of helping me. :) Thank you!

That's strange. I have just tried with both the locomotives available and both of them have the handle present. And pressing W puts it in forward position.

I don't think there is anything you can do to get the handle in if it's missing and the tutorial seems locked to only allow you to do what you are supposed to do.

The only things I can think of then is to try and verify the game in Steam and maybe it will fix something that is broken and preventing you from seeing the handle.

Or you can try with a completely new profile in TSW and see if that makes any difference.

Strange indeed... There were no patches released since launch so we should have the exact same build. When going to settings, I can see "Build number 550" in the lower right corner of the screen. Do you see the same? I've tried to find the build number in the game log files but I didn't see anything other than the Unreal engine version.

Ctrl + W inserts, and removes, the reverser handle.

Strange that I don't have the same build. Before reinstalling everything, I went into the first loco (left) and the handle is present!!! Will continue the tutorial with this unit. Thank you very much for your help. HighTower, it seems that Ctrl + W does not work in tutorial mode. Pressing both keys is the same a pressing W alone.

Correction, the second tutorial requires that you insert the Reverser handle using Ctrl+W and that worked.

Had the issue, Going back to main main menu then into journeys, Continue tutorial seemed to fix it for me.

You have to click slightly in a different spot and it will put the reverser in. From what I know irl they are like keys so it makes sense, just annoying they dont point it out perfectly, becuase if I didnt hover over it perfectly I could see myself in the same situation as you.
