What do the W markers stand for ?
Im going eastbound on Sandpatch

The W signs mean "Whisteboard". This was made for steamie days when trains had whistles instead of horns. It is essentially the same as the X.

As mentioned above, they're whistle boards. In North America (and possibly other countries), the sign is placed a 1/4 mile from the crossing and tells the driver to perfrom the standard whistle sequence (long, long, short, long) until the crossing is fully ocupied. If you're not supposed to whistle, then either no sign will be present, or you might see a W with an x through it.

Are there any Grade markers attached to the signal posts?

I do notice some black discs here and there, but they are small and randomly attached and don't have the letter G on them ....
