It's a noise that promotes immersion.
The sounds are horrible. But then again, in france you don't get to see too many GE or EMD diesels for real. And all use the same horn, but when in reality, all three locos included in CSX heavy haul use different horns. The AC4400 sound, is spot on. Really it is. In notch zero, at idle, it is spot on right. Notch 1-8 not even close. General Electric FDL motors DO NOT sound like a sucking hoover vacuum cleaner. Not sure if you have hoover vacuum cleaners in France.
