I think a rudimentary editor is going to be ready in a couple of months but you should do some digging to find out.
Rudimentary....at DTG pushes out new content with those "rudimentary" editors, creating "rudimentary" routes. Please. They even released video prior to the beta that showed a pretty complete and extremely well functioning route editor. No, DTG is going the Run 8 route. No third party content, they want 100 percent control over every aspect of their sim. Too bad for DTG, because Run 8 is far superior, and If I was gonna spend money on a locked down train sim, I would definately choose run 8 because I want a train sim that is as close to realistic as possible, especially in regards to physics, sounds and operations. DTG has an epic fail in those areas.
Not sure if you've been paying attention, but DTG have stated time and time again that an editor is in the works. They've even said why it's taking so long. Now I for one haven't the slightest clue how to make a game, let alone an editor within it, and I don't think you do either, so let's have some patience and optimism, yeah?
Trainze A New Era is quite nice. Back in the day when it first came out I did a lot of free content for it.
For me I enjoy making the layouts more than driving a train on rails. So unless this Dev gets their act together I ain't buying.
I am informed. DTG has done nothing, and not delivered the product they advertised. It is informed. TSW is a completely locked down program, that doesn't even offer accurate physics, train handling, editors of any kind. I saw the video they released before the beta, showing a pretty functional editor. You might have missed that. Pretty sure you did. After purchasing TSW it was pretty apparent, you can put lipstick on a pig, and it's still a pig. So I purchased Run 8. And when you compare 2 completely locked down train sims, that don't allow third party content creation, the superior product is Run 8. Hell I even prefer Open Rails over TSW. But I see how you are. You don't want any negativity or comparison. You come across as a DTG fanboi. I've tried every sim since MSTS was released nearly 2 decades ago. My posts are not based on ignorance. Maybe you believe so, but when I am the guy trying out all the train sims on the market, I give an honest, and educated assessment, and my posts are based off that. So you son, come across as an ignorant fanboi, that seems to be happy with TSW since you more than likely are a rivet counter, and don't give two craps about how things work under the hood. Guys like you giving DTG a free pass on everything they do, is why they have done nothing to improve their content creation that they release. DTG releases, bugs as usual, dating back to TS 20XX.
I am not a trainz fan, bought it to try it, and do prefer it over TSW.
