Looks like they have canned that idea now.
A simulation game must be planned for multiplayer from begin on else you have later need to make a complete rework. An example for a train simulator which is made for multiplayer is "Run 8" but it's only interesting for few people here (US freight trains only, sometimes an Amtrak passenger train but no timetable services like in MSTS, TS20xx or TSW). You can use it in singleplayer, too, but you are also the dispatcher and you need to set the paths for you and the (you can disable them) random generated(!) AI trains.
I'm also waiting for the editor and until it's released I'm not spending any more money on this game.
Bringing out this editor allows us to find the boundaries of what DTG actually will allow us to do with TSW, apart from driving to and fro.
The issue I see here is that people are impatient and want it NOW
