BR Class 101 doors

Hello-
I find that, when I am in the cab of the BR Class 101, I cannot open the engineer's doors, in order to get out (either right or left). I can open the windows, but not the doors. The only way I can get out is through the middle door into the passenger compartment.

It is a quirk of the 101 that you need to wind the window down before the cabin door will open. It seems to be a thing with some doors on very old british trains, though I'm not sure why. Maybe the latch is on the outside and you need the window open to operate it. Anyway if you click the window then near the hinge you can open the cabin doors

That's exactly why it works this way in TSW

It's done as you should do in the real train, as far as I have seen in other discussions in the forums: first you need to open window as that unlocks the door.

Same here. I just go out the passenger door, if I have ot go out. Although I have now seen the answer. It's the damn sander I can't find.
