But it will probably take a year
What may 'seem' like a lie doesn't make it one
If a 'better mp sim' were to come out well so what? Nobody has a crystal ball.
Good job prehistoric man ventured out of his cave because if he hadn't we'd all still be living in one.
By the way.
I didn't want MP and neither did many who were asked on the TS forums months before TSW release.
Many did and they are going to get it... no skin off my nose. Apart from it will be horribly broken and there will be endless complaints which get in the way of the rest of the game being developed. Endless promises, endless patches and more endless moaning and griping and tedious threats from little kids...
What nerve have you supposed to have touched?
It wasn't a big feature reveal, we said we'd be bringing multiplayer to TSW and that is still the case.
We are open about the fact that TSW doesn't have multiplayer and have been since its release.
We have also have stated on multiple occasions that currently we are purely working towards bringing it to the game as soon as we feasibly can.

I would like to see ServiceMode become multiplayer in TSW. Much the same as that mod which adds multiplayer to EuroTruckSim.
DTG (Then RSDL) said in 2009 they were in it for the long haul and many claimed RailWorks wouldn't last 9 months, but they're still here 8 years later. I don't think many envisaged the various new game modes, new lighting, superelevation and much much more that was added to RailWorks over the years, so apply that thinking to TSW. Who knows what DTG will do over the years, but at least we know they want Multiplayer already :)
Year ago: Multiplayer is still heavily in development and will therefore not feature in the Train Sim World: CSX Heavy Haul Beta. However, we are planning for multiplayer to become a key feature of the Train Sim World experience and we’ll have more details on this in the coming weeks. More details on this in the coming weeks... 40 weeks gone and no news about it. We can here the same stuff again and again.
So if you are looking for multiplayer Train Simulator than you should chose Run8, Trainz, OpenRails, BVE 5
I think it will be still in the planning stage but won't happen soon as there is just enough to do beforehand.
But to my mind using the past to predict the future whilst a decent methology I don't think it is relevant here due to customer desires and the significan't software change etc.
