Posters: similar to beta, but NOT in the same places. I have found four so far around the Cumberland terminal.
Markers: as noted above, there is usually a shovel and a marker lying down. Get close, and the marker is "re-planted". Again, found the first one by accident, but the next 2 I saw and replanted.
The fourth collectable, I have not been able to identify yet. In one of the screenshots during the game start up, it shows what looks like a white "X" on a red octagon. Still trying to figure this one out.
[Just been walking the track and these ones appear to be "No Trespassing" signs. Kind of found it by walking up to a stake. ;)]
Oh, and I have identified at least three posters and about three markers along the route during my first service drive. I am thinking about spawning a walk, but then grab a spare loco and drive along the track specifically looking for the items.
If you got the Beta, I am thinking to check the places you found the hard-hats and posters, but do not expect to find them in the same locations.
A clue for the markers is they seem to be near road crossings.
Oh, and if you check out the screenshot during start up there are 25 of each collectable to find.
Thanks Rudolf. I'd like to think these collectibles are here just to encourage us to get used to walking around and will not be in future versions, but sadly I think not, groaaan...
("Yah, I'm just going back to uncouple those cars....") Twenty minutes later, I'm five miles down the track... On foot.. On, tour ! In search of things.
Get out of that cab. Stretch your legs... There's a whole lot more out there. Then in there.
Hard hats: 14/25
No Tresspass signs: 10/25
Markers: 13/25
50 of 100 colledtables so far.
As has been commented, some are not seen from a locomotive.
So you have to get out and walk (or run). If you do the walking, then you can get the pilgrim achievement. I'm on 77 miles of 100 currently. :)
Thus far, I have been to the two mines and working (walking) from Cumberland Terminal towards Rockwood.
That's some serious commitment! :)
