As much as you, I, and probably many others would love this, I can't help but think that it could be a security issue. Users could potentially use the caching system to transmit malicious files to other people, sort of like what happened/is happening in source engine games with their custom VTF spray system. That's assuming it is a multiplayer game and not just a COOP between friends. If its the latter, than anything I said really doesn't apply.
Makes sense from a security standpoint, but in terms of store-bought dlc, could be cached from steam itself rather than the player, though for things which haven't been released on steam, could drop to the initial idea above?
I made this thread as a kinda question about what plans are for multiplayer, given that it is in the pipeline, but I don't want something like FSX where it replaces a Boeing 747 with a Cessna or (in terms of trains) replacing a Class 91 with a CSX SD40-2 on an ECML route, for example.
