Career Mode
How detailed will the career mode be? I would love to see it where you get hired for a railroad, start out as either an assistant conductor in tutorial mode, get promoted to conductor of a switching loco in Cumberland yard, and then as you gain XP points you unlock locos and distance you can operate and length of train. Example, first you start with GP38 in yard, next GP38 in and out of yard, SD40 on full route, finally AC4400CW with long train on full route.

I just hope I am not having to run a freight train 0.9 over the speed limit just to arrive on time without losing points.

Especially if you have a physics mod that simulates real life acceleration and braking, if can be hard to make a timetable that was made for quicker acceleration and braking.

I would like to see a more open and dynamic mission system....less reliant on repeating rule system. This would be nice especially with the ability to move around in the environment

Although at this point... I am really just worried about performance

Some random elements would be great. Perhaps sometimes you have go into a siding and wait for priority traffic to pass. Or some other random element to deal with.

Autogenerated jobs like the Truck Simulator series instead of just the same old static scenarios would be awesome.

Hope to hear someone from DTG chime in on this subject.

So much this. The gameyness of many of the scenarios in the previous edition really detracted from the experience.

Constantly tapping a couple of keys to maintain a speed of no less than a km/h or two below the speed limit isn't my idea of either fun or realism.

OMG this thread is exactly what most of the TS scenarios are all about. That 0.9 mph above the posted limit. Hilarious! So true!

Yes, hopefully TSW includes some creative ways to let us get "XP" or other kinds of progress points.
