There are new reasons to investigate an awkward ledge, try a different pool, and bring something unusual home. This update adds optional discoveries and village requests without making them a requirement for progression.

• Fernscale in forest pools.

• Cistern Bream in ruined cisterns.

• Blind Deepfish in deeper cave pools.

Each has its own illustration and 32x32/64x64 sprites, with different food, sale and donation values. Existing fish and the Glassfin discovery remain available.

Newly generated cave sections can contain abandoned survey camps, ledge caches and specimen niches. These optional shelf detours hold short authored notes, useful supplies and strange saleable curios. Loot stays looted, and notes can be reread.

Some discoveries have nearby cave wildlife, with room to approach and retreat. Creatures do not suddenly appear when a cache is opened, and revisiting a cave does not repopulate it.

Donate one Fernscale for 40 gold, one Cistern Bream for 120 gold, and one Blind Deepfish for 240 gold. Use Shift+D at the General Store; Shift+C > Quests explains the requests. No acceptance step is needed.

Each bonus is available once per character, alongside ordinary larder portions and donation XP. Eating or selling a fish does not complete a request.

• Expanded the Field Guide with fishing habitats, discoveries, curios and cave wildlife.

• Request details and rewards remain readable on smaller interfaces.

• Fixed a rare crash caused by old item references and repeat state surviving a return to Home or reload.

Back up your saves before updating. Older saves can load without retrospective village-request payouts. Already visited cave sections keep their saved contents; explore newly generated sections to find the new discoveries and encounters.

Saves written by 0.1.4 cannot be reopened in older versions. Keep your original save if you might want to return to an older release.

Thank you for playing and reporting problems. Enjoy the expedition!

• Full Tile mode is now a supported presentation, with walls, quiet floors, trees, features, pickups and dedicated cave scenery in both 32 and 64 resolutions.

• Prefer the simplicity of glyph floors? Enable Keep floors ASCII. Cave air stays black and shop numbers remain visible.

• ASCII now offers Classic and Square cells, with Square the default. Optional Enhanced Square widens wall glyphs only; it is off by default.

• Newly generated cave sections can contain a wider variety of creatures, doors, physical traps and supply chests.

• Opening, closing, searching, detection, disarming and chest loot persist when saving and revisiting.

• Tunnelling and supported rock-removal magic update terrain, footing and visibility while protecting pools, anchors and return routes.

• Cave creatures have more varied traits and resistances, with additional supported spell effects and persistent conditions.

• Rest, nearby creature and item lists, automatic pickup and ignore now work with cave geometry and inventory rules. Combat remains manual; automatic cave navigation is not included.

• Village and overworld movement is more responsive.

• Rain splashes are smaller and keep a consistent size when zooming.

• Amber hatching and directional arrows mark the actual border-crossing tiles in every presentation. Examine them for an explanation.

• Continuous auto-explore reports its stopping reason more accurately.

• Cave Survey navigation is clearer: Enter or click focuses the chart, arrows select sections by direction, Tab cycles, Home selects your current section, and Escape returns to the character-screen tabs.
