Lava Grotto puzzle
HI folks,

I want to make sure my inability to complete a challenge is not due to a bug. It's the one where you run behind the waterfall to get to the puzzle. The clues are move, left, and time. I've tried every combination I can think of, and some extra things besides. Any hints?

There is a similar thread that was posted a few hours back. I wanted to help that poster too, but I do not recall the exact puzzle unfortunately. Would you happen to have a screenshot or be willing to describe the setup?

I had trouble with that one too. In fact, I didn't solve it with the suggested rune set because I couldn't figure out how. I ended up just using the runes rain and teleport . So, this helps if you're a completionist like me, but not so much if you want to do it the suggested way. To be fair I tried every combo of the suggested runes for about an hour in that small room until I tried my fix. Maybe we're just standing in the wrong spot.

I didn't find a solution either with the suggested rune combination. My (messy) solution included 3 chained spells and the random rune for the last torch.

Just spam the trigger for those two a few times on the first torch until the random direction of the last part hits the third one.

I would post a (private, link-only) video, but I'm not sure this is allowed under current NDA.

Based on what was said, I can at least say that Move and Time have different effects whether they are directly linked or not. If Move and Time are directly linked, the spell moves much more quickly. A lot of Runes have different effects based on what their next-door neighbors are.

Still, I only really know that there are three torches. How are the torches positioned? Are there any other puzzle elements like buttons or switches? As I recall, I cleared the puzzle without Teleport, so there should be an earlier solution.

If I recall correctly, it's a puzzle with three torches placed in a zig-zag pattern (first is centered, second is further and little to the right, third is further more and to the left of the first one) and there's grates on the 2nd and 3rd, lightning the first lifts the grate on the second, lightning the second lift the grate on the third.
Ah, that sounds like that puzzle needs Duplicate. Duplicate creates three fireballs in a line, so the hits are staggered as the fireballs advance. Is that the puzzle behind the lavafall though? I only have my potato of a laptop with me, so starting a new game to get to that puzzle is impractical unfortunately.

No. I only just have my laptop so I can't verify but as I recall, it's a puzzle where the 3 are roughly in-line, but with a slight zig-zag, and must be hit sequentially. The fireball must first go through a small opening so you can't send three of them at once. I initially solved this with triggers.

I think my solution was a simple homing immedi with a trigger Impact which sends another homing immedi with Impact which now sends a homing immedi with Left. Time is needed because the timing is versy tight. Might be wrong, tho, it'S been a while.
Hmm. I wonder why I cannot remember this particular puzzle. I blazed through most of the puzzles and only committed to memory the ones where I probably did something entirely unexpected. Sorry I could not be of more help.

I used two spells. The first shot a ball straight ahead let the first torch and on impact spawned the second one. The second spell shot a fireball in a random Direction and on impact spawned itself.
I just kept doing this until the random angles managed to light both other torches.
I have no idea what the proper spell would be.

Okay, that gives me some stuff to try. I don't have teleport yet, but I have completed the game once. I'm now scouring the world for secrets and side quests.

Another improper way to solve this is to throw a regular fireball at the first one, which, on Impact, sends another one to the second (I think Move-Right does the trick). For the third, I just used Actus+Teleport.

I just began another run (I wanted to try the game with a controller) but am still far behind in the game (just did Sky Temple). When I'll get there I'll try to tackle this puzzle to find a clean solution.

This one is impossible with the hints. There's also a bugged wall that should stop fireballs from simply going there but at the right angle they pass through.

I remember this - I actually solved it "correctly" I think, though I can't remember the details - just that I used duplicate to split the fireball, with impact triggers to cause it to repeat itself, and something quirky about putting the time on the move? I don't recall, sorry, but I'm pretty sure it can be done...

Solution: You need three spells of actus.
First: link move and left and add act at once at the second spell
Second: link move and right and add act at once at the third spell
Third: link move
So cast the first one at the right sport (somewhere in front of the "door") and you will get it

Correct solution is 2 spells
spell 1: actus: Fire->move->impact(spell 2)
spell 2: actus: Fire->move->duplicate->size

Size NEEDS to come AFTER duplicate. This is the difference between a narrow spread of 3 big balls or a wide spread of 5 small balls
