You can also change options to make the experience easier, such as:
You can even turn off Dirty Tricks all-together if they bother you too much.
Once you're used to the game and understand how to use your own Dirty Tricks (including the ref bribery) you can beat the crap out of the AI. Believe me, it can be done! Don't give up!
reccommend trying, once you get to a certain skill level, you just wanna keep climbing higher and finding new ways to beat opponents. Especially when you do find a competitor online. Hope we can get another tournament going one day.
Don't give up on it, its alot of fun once you start getting better at the game.
Considering Mutant League Football came way before Blitz, and Blitz took lots of ideas from MFL, this is not a "boring clone of blitz".
Yeah, MLF did fast-paced, violent, 7-on-7 football long before Blitz ever did. Also, did you just call this game a BORING clone? This game is zanier and more creative than Blitz EVER was!
That being said, you can still slow the game down and take out a lot of the violence if you want something more "normal."
Just lower the game speed, turn off the Karnage Level, turn on Resurrection, turn off Dirty Tricks, and there you have it... a death-less football game with no shenanigans besides the field hazards!
If you play online (I don't) then there may be difficulty restrictions I'm not aware of, or lack of opponents at your chosen settings, but for single player I am happily surprised with the difficulty options, and the inclusion of a practice mode is a bonus as well.
If it's not for you, that's fair, we're all different, but I see a game that reflects my memories of the original better than most remakes of the same time period, and more customization for difficulty than I expected based on other remakes.
