Do you need more than base game?
Hi,
Victoria 3 is part of a bundle for 38 EUR. It only includes the base game but as I understand it that's plenty. Is that right?

More like that the DLCs are crap. The only one which is at least somewhat good is "Sphere of Influence".

Also, the base game itself is worth about half of its actual price, because it is still an unfinished, buggy mess.

Thanks. I'll keep playing Vic2 for a few month then. I felt tempted by the the new graphics and navigation in Vic3.

Vic3 could've been an impovement over Vic2, but the implementation is simply disappointing. Maybe after some more patches and DLCs, the game will finally reach a level where it can be considered to be out of beta. Currently, there are a lot of bugs, you have to get mods to avoid several glaring issues, and the need to babysit your armies is just plain annoying.

I would not play the game without sphere of influence DLC, but I would buy the game on sale no question asks. I wish people lurking on the forum would stop over exaggerating.

I'd say vic3 is already an improvement over vic2, sorry but vic2 was never a good game.

It was a good game for its time, and it still is. With Victoria 3, I can see where they tried to improve upon it, but failed to do so. Perhaps once Vic3 is somewhat finished, around patch 3.x or so, it may surpass Vic2.

The improvement was made at a high cost, the performance at the end of the game is still very slow, at the beginning the countries have few buildings and few people are playable, but when the game is reaching 1890 and later the lag becomes very annoying

The Lag I am talking about is about the time it takes to pass a week of the game even with speed 5 (1-5) activated

This is probably an engine issue. It cannot handle so many POP types, buildings and trade routes. They should've either optimized it properly, or simplified the system. Do we really need so many POP types, especially if the engine chokes on it? No, we don't.
