Private Buildings destroy the economy
Since the introduction of the private building queue is destroying my carefully planned economy, it woul be good to stop private building of plants, and resource buildings

If you want a command economy you should pass the command economy law. Alternatively, just disable private construction in the game rules.

Just turn it off in the Game Rules before you start a new game.

After playing my first game with the new patch, I agree. The AI will build factories in colonies and farms in incorporated states. By late game it's just a flat waste of construction because if you don't delete some of the buildings they make your economy will crash. Colonies/unincorporated will out-compete incorporated states with lower wage and more throughput.

Introducing private construction is the dumbest decision Paradox could make with this game. I started with the US and the AI is building art colleges where no workers are qualified for. And because the art price remains high, the AI builds even more art colleges in the same state, which still lacks skilled workers. And after that, the AI builds whalers, although in 1838 there is no need for oil and the price of meat is low.
I understand why the private sector should build its own factories. The government doesn't actually build businesses for the private sector. But then the AI should also be good enough to build the RIGHT businesses.
The game was a lot of fun when it was released. But now I don't want this garbage anymore. Why patch a game that worked fine?

That's a supply and demand thing... The price is high because there is no one that can produce to meet demand.

The demand is high because less people means more money so they can afford the finer things.

The majority of people who go to create colonies and "move to new areas with little population", aren't poor to begin with. They don't want to live in huts.... They want to live in mansions, filled with paintings on their little colony so they can rub it in the faces of the little peasants.

So the demand for luxury items like art would make sense.

I understand the demand. My problem ist that AI builds art colleges in Maine, where no qualified workers can make art. And then the AI builds ANOTHER art college in Maine. And there are again no qualified workers. Thats the real issue. 😄

It would be nice if they allowed you to flag stuff to the private industry. E.g. what states you want to just build resource buildings/farms. What states you want to develop industry in.

Also being able to tag certain stats farmland usage towards one single good. E.g. your only silk farm in your empire, you want to fill it with silk farms not rice farms.

Especially since if they decide to build in a state that has a construction efficency terrain debuff + turmoil it can lead to a waste of time. Especially early game.

I dont have the same issues with it and honestly enjoy it to an extent. Its pretty trash early game for small nations because it steals your already abysmal construction speed. Beyond that i find thats its quite helpful building random crap i need and havent checked on in a while and generally helps to keep the market balanced. Its nice to not be 5k down clothes or something because i was trying to get production for construction mats up. I can understand them building factories sub-optimally though, they dont really seem to stack them up for the scaling bonus

Automatic construction has only just been released its too much to expect it to be perfect in the same patch.
Hopefully they'll make more control over it and even early game access to command economy for players who want it. Special Economic zones and regulations to give you more control would be cool.

Is there a mod to make them stop building in unincoperated states? They build manufactries in there and it destroys the economy.
I have to downsize it everytime they do it so it wont destroy the economy

Why does it destroy the economy when buildings are built in unincoperated states?
