How to remove generals?
I want to remove a general from commanding an army... but I don't see the button to do that- can anyone help?

Also, if you don't want the penalty, you can alternatively transfer that general to a new empty army and leave him there.

Open the character menu of the general, in the upper left corner there should be a round icon, there should be an option to retire your general.

You could also change your internal security law to "Secret Police" an arrange an accident.
This is also very handy to get rid off IG Leaders you don't like.

You can't without firing them, just transfer him to a new empty army like they did with Patton IRL

Wrong reference. If anything, it should be this one:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_S._Patton#Relieved_of_command
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fifteenth_United_States_Army#Military_occupation_of_Germany

By this point the Fifteenth was a small organization concerned with documentation of tactical lessons to be learned from the war.
