Can't conquer state

So, I want to take land from France but for some reason, for the live of me, I can't select a certain state (Lorraine).

It's not in the list of states I can conquer and if I use the console to ctrl+click annex it, the game just crashes.

Any way to take it anyway??

As France, you just don't take Lothringen, this is legitimate Deutsches land.

I wish they kept a list of the greyed out options in diplomacy so you know why you can't do something.

You need to have interest in the region where Lorraine lies, otherwise you can't do anything there.

I can take and CB all the other states around it, just not Lorraine...
