Same. My factory need workers, got 600k peasants available, they stay in farm instead of go to factory ...
I set some university to increase lvl of pop ... but i though peasant go to workers job directly ...
I play since vanilla, never encounter this kind of problem.

Last patch messed up everything?
Spooky Bunyip Nov 19, 2023 @ 6:20am
How expensive are their basic needs?

I'm not sure, but if they can get what they need as a subsistence farmer but would have trouble getting food as a factory worker, maybe that's what's keeping them subsistence farmers.

Do you get more converting if you subsidize the worksites?
Vash Nov 19, 2023 @ 7:01am
Well if i subside it, they come to work, but the factory win money, the salarie is 350 per worker, i have 90k worker unemployed with a revenu of 3.5, why they can't come to work, that's strange,
lefty1117 Nov 19, 2023 @ 7:04am
I wonder if they need some basic leel of education now
Bracus Nov 19, 2023 @ 7:06am
Must be a bug.
With oranje i start with 90k+ jobseekers
Without any major thing happenning all my pesants ( around 82k ) disappears from the jobseeker branch on april 22-23 all of a sudden.
Hangaround0122 Nov 19, 2023 @ 7:09am
how about to increase the wage and decrease the price of food? build more farm
Bracus Nov 19, 2023 @ 7:39am
After it went to around 10k jobseekers, i had to:

Build a millet farm
Disband my only one construction site
Disband my whole army
Wait for like 1-2 months then all my pesants were seeking jobs again
All above had to be done
*sigh* why would someone on a farm, where the whole family of 40 have a nice life, want to go to the city? THAT KIND OF THING TAKES TIME! IT HAPPENS OVER TIME NOT SUDDENLY! THATS HOW THE WORLD WORKED BACK THEN! FFS Go to HISTORY CLASSES next time!

Japan needed over 100 YEARS for that to happen! AS PORTRAIT INGAME (much to my personal dislike btw. thou then again... having 2 million people without work and thus money = shurefire kill of your life standart (wich is ALSO portrait ingame btw.)

So, instead of crying, learn about it in reality and then ADMIT that they did a DAMN GOOD JOB PORTRAIING IT THE RIGHT WAY!

lots of passion from Kouta Seta ... but I do think that the transitions between peasant and educated laborer are meant to happen more gradually and in stages

The insults you posted are petty and not needed.

Often land was getting scarce, they had no choice to move to cities for jobs. By the time tractors came around large amounts of people were getting displaced and forced out.

The problem the person was facing probably had to due with changes to qualifications and that bad UI change not showing the actual available workforce.

Agree with OP, this is killing the game for me. I read and watched Youtubes on how to deal with this.., I just don't get it. Anyway, I will stick with it for a while and see if either a patch changes this, or somehow I start to understand how it works.

Same problem. Food is cheap and standart of living around 12. Yet barely anyone works in the Factorys. Pretty Hard to build up an Economy because of this.

If I need to wait 100 ingame years for something like this while the AI, Somehow, seems to be able to speed that process up, judging by how quick they are producing goods, I might as well uninstall the game. Thats not fun. Im playing this to have fun. Not build factorys, than go afk for 2 hours to wait for people to get employed.
