Yes, I uninstalled the game.
You can see on the map via roads drawn over your country where your armies can go. If you do not have a road available to the front then you can instead try invading via sea.
I agree its silly to have the entire western USA inaccessible to armies at the start but it is quite possible to work around it. When I was using USA to test the new army mechanics I ended up invading Mexico through occupied Texas when they held it during the Mexican-Texan war and liberated both Texas and claimed all of the Mexican lands which would be US claims. I had to wait until they provided me access by totally taking over texan lands though as that connected our transport grids.
