Loose infamy faster?
How to get rid of infamy faster?
The 6,25 [5,0+1,25(+25% if enough spare diplomatic influence)] reduction per year is by far not enough.

I'm also looking forward to the new infamy reduction mechanic or some kind of casus belli to get less infamy from war goals. IMHO is at least "unbalanced".

There is an event that can fire if you have an obligation on a country, that has a chance of having them do some PR to reduce infamy by -10 for you or damage your relations with them

Below being the event from the obligations_event file

# Opportunity to request infamy decrease
obligation_events.3 = {
type = country_event
placement = ROOT

title = obligation_events.3.t
desc = obligation_events.3.d
flavor = obligation_events.3.f

event_image = {
video = "gfx/event_pictures/Africa_diplomats_negotiating.bk2"
}

on_created_soundeffect = "event:/SFX/UI/Alerts/event_appear"
on_opened_soundeffect = "event:/SFX/Events/africa/diplomats_negotiating"

icon = "gfx/interface/icons/event_icons/event_default.dds"

duration = 3

trigger = {
infamy >= 5
any_country = {
owes_obligation_to = root
}
}

immediate = {
random_country = {
limit = {
owes_obligation_to = root
}
save_scope_as = obligation_request_target
}
save_scope_as = obligation_request_sender
}

option = {
name = obligation_events.3.a
scope:obligation_request_target = {
trigger_event = {
id = obligation_events.4
days = 7
}
}
custom_tooltip = obligation_events.a.tt
show_as_tooltip = {
change_infamy = -10
}
custom_tooltip = obligation_events.b.tt
show_as_tooltip = {
change_relations = {
country = scope:obligation_request_target
value = -20
}
}
}

option = {
name = obligation_events.3.b
default_option = yes
custom_tooltip = obligation_events.tt.no
}
}

Have you tried to release nations, and use them as dominion? Have u tried to NOT take countries land directly, but make them your dominion?

Unfortunately, making someone dominion or puppet doesn't make any sense at the moment, cause AI is really bad at economy\resources. And since main puprose of conquest is rare resources (oil, rubber) making dominions or establishing custom unions is pointless.

I have tried that, and have actually gained far more infamy in making them my dominion than by wargoaling all of their states, assuming I have enough manouevers to goal all their states.

You make dominions and puppets so they mass produce the cheap raw goods that can be costly to produce with tools and goal to get those resources yourself. You make mad money off your industrialized manufacturing by exploiting the surplus of raw goods your puppets and dominions produce. The puppets and dominion then buy your manufactured goods. You profit like mad crazy.

Now, these smaller nations need more refinement. Not every nation should primarily focus on expanding the current raw goods industry. Some nations should get more industrial focused, particularly if they get a larger Industrial group clout going. Same with Trade Unions. This is something that the devs will be working on in future patches and may even be a part of 1.1.

As to the infamy, make alliances, secure obligations. Let your allies break your alliances. Use your obligations you are owed to get the other nations to try and join your dominion, where you know they will fail, request they uphold their obligation and watch them still deny. Now you can take their territory by force and conquer, puppet or dominionize them with far less infamy gain.

My allies usually never break my alliances . Even if the owe me an obligation, I cannot force them to be my puppet or dominion, even if I check the obligation box, they refuse , that doesnt seem to give any bonus reduction to infamy when conquer any of their states
