Other than that- more buildings is just usually better.
It's not a bad thing, I think most people say about 30-45% of the red bar is acceptable, if your war situation is looking clean for the near future. -- if you're expecting to go into war, try and maintain a positive and build up some credit (gold bar.) first.
Also, always build certain buildings no matter the cost if you have them available to you (gold mines for instance. and oil wells.)
Try turn on automatisation and transportation for all the buildings.
If you already did it then try open the borders/control migration.
if you did it too try increase accepted cultures law.
Again if you did it then stop building for god sake.
There are however a couple of possilbe ways to bosot oyur population. One is ofc to lessen border controls/allow immigration, and naother is to support multiculturalism so those imigrnats won#t be radicals.
Another it to wage a war and snip yourself a piece of a high population country. E.g. if oyu get a procvince of india, or china or suchlike, you can get tens ofm illions of pops form a single province, which will then proceed to mgirate happily to oyur home provinces to fill in any non-peasant job left open.
- Enact the Greener Grass decree.
Doing this, you'll be able to siphon mad amounts of population from the trade market you're in. If you're not a subject to anyone, join a custom union. It helps to switch to some more liberal legislation like things that improve cultural acceptance, education, health care and women's rights.
You should only ever start running into a lack of infrastructure and/or hitting your taxation capacity limit if you did this right.
....and so on :D
Overconstructing hurts your economy really bad unless you have built an insane amount of construction goods or your importing them.
Basically if you were using Iron frame buildings you need a lot of tools and iron, to compensate you overbuild iron and you can build a lot. This takes taxes and pays your iron workers to keep building. But this keeps prices high for industry.
If you cut back your building iron prices drop and steel and tool prices drop increasing productivity in your industry sector.
On a side note, more or less trade works this way by letting trade routes get larger or pulling more resources as an import based on need.
