Thoughts on the new dev diary?

i thought it was good, i think they are patching up the history of this game, its sad they didnt do anything with the military, but its still a big update nonetheless, in only a month too.

they're already selling minor nation flavor and there is little to no major nation flavor in the game, which is still a beta product. If it weren't for paradox being the only studio attempting this style of games, I'd ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hate them and their highly exploitative profit model.

The class/caste system revamp is a pretty interesting concept.

With the game as it is now it is far too easy to build a multicultural country that is stable and able to maximise productivity. Hopefully they use this system to represent stuff like segregation in the US and racism towards the Irish in the UK.

it would take way too much effort so in typical paradox fashion, they will either do nothing or just do everything poorly and in a very simple shallow way. if they went in depth with segregation and racism in countries, the US would be too complex since it was a state issue until woodrow wilson made segregation federal.

I like the way they reworked the hindustan revolt my self, and the princely states in general. It gives the rebellion more of a chance instead of existing for 0.01 seconds. and because britain usually doesnt help out india in the revolt because the diplo play starts in countdown to war i think? it makes it way more interesting. but you can always just join britain in the opium wars, and attack an indian princely state to explode india. nothing really changed, other than the fact that it can happen naturally

They are already doing this with India though.

They divided it up into 3 regions who each have their own laws. South India has richer peasants, North India powerful landlords and Bengal is just famine land or something.

Regardless, African-Americans were second class citizens outside of the south as well. Many western states literally passed laws banning black people from coming there.
