Was this Indian DLC really necessary?

This game still feels incomplete; every single country feels the same when played. Why don't they bring more immersive content instead of focusing on a colony no one cares about? They could've introduced new and more historical missions for Russia, Prussia, Austria, England, or the USA...

I mean, they will eventually.

One thing they do is research regions, and even apply that to several games if they can. So India is pretty noteworthy. CK 3 will most likely get Indian flavor as well.
Fortunately they should be done in that part of the world seeing as SoI also had it's flavor next door, lol.

To be fair , seems as though the implication that that region is of lesser importance to the game's setting than the others you mentioned in the Victorian Era is what he was referring to. I mean this is Victoria, and the Indian Subcontinent is a hugely important and relevant part of the world of that time, on par with the others you mentioned. What happens there has significant impacts to the surrounding regions as well as the world. I think that definitely fed into the decision by developers to focus on them for the DLC.

And you got all the content for free with the patch anyway.

as far as i know you get every new mechanic in the free putch. buy the dlc only if you want to play in india (events and so on)

You are asking for more content for Russia and GB, while the 2 last content packs are about India and Persia

There will be more immersion packs and you will like them.

He is right and India is of second importance.

Prussia has no content, Austria neither, the Balkans are still a mess, colonization of Africa is ♥♥♥♥, the migration system is bad, the war system is clearly mediocre.

The content of the free patch is good, but the Indian DLC should have been published way later in the game development

Every single game of victoria until now was about controlling india. To defeat great britian, the player had to either control india themselves, or liberate EIC subject asap. With india under control, little could ever stop britain from snowballing, even considering AI's incompetence
