Any way to deal with political lobbies in subjects?
I always end up having to make Denmark my protectorate as Sweden eventually because they never offer to join me willingly. This tends to make them create political lobbies in opposition to me. These political lobbies make it very difficult to lower their liberty desire.

Is there any way to encourage or force political lobbies to be removed from my subjects so that they will be easier to deal with?

The only option is "fund lobbies" i guess, but then it is pure luck. I had been waiting for 30 years for fund lobbies to have impact when I wanted to annex Bolivia as Columbia. Then I just made them free and conqered them when truce expired.

I don't think I have an option to fund lobbies. Might be something that is only available with the sphere of influence DLC. Where is lobby funding found in the UI?

It's a diplomatic action.

Wouldn't be surprised if its a sphere of influence thing.

I played a game as Brazil a couple of weeks ago and subjugated most of South America. The lobbies that some subjects formed against me NEVER ended (until I annexed them). When you get tech they don’t have, you can share it. You can appoint a governor if you are a presidential or parliamentary republic. You can exempt service and reduce payments. If their legitimacy is, below 75 (i think) you can support the regime. And, as you grow faster than them, their liberty desire will go down. It is a VERY slow process. I think it took about 60 years before I finished annexing them all.
My takeaway was that if your end goal is to annex them, it is most likely better to just conquer the states directly.
