[FIXED] Game keeps crashing after new DLC release Sphere of Influence (Windows 7)

I fail to launch the game with no mod and dbghelp.dll rename doesn't change anything. .NET framework and Visual C++ are up to date. Here is my log :

With or without DLC doesn't change anything either. That seems pretty strange as it was running perfectly and smoothly right before the release...

So, I reverted back to 1.6.2 as I cannot play with any new version from that point on. I don't know what they did with the game, it was running fine even on my 12 yo computer with windows 7. I don't want to "upgrade" to another version of windows, nor do I need and have the money for a new PC. Sad part is that I have a useless expansion pass and cannot enjoy the new features of the game anymore, but I fear that I'm being powerless for that last matter.

You should have led with the windows 7 thing. Take launcher out of it, and try running victoria3.exe directly. Maybe you will get an indication of potential missing dependency due to win 7.

Well, I have this error message "Entry point cannot be found"

Entry point of process SetThreadDescription cannot be found in the dynamic library KERNEL32.dll

Yea, that looks like an api call added to windows 10 (see link requirement section), that they might have started recently using with dlc.

Best you can do is maybe submit some report on their official forums or support ticket.

I already know what they're gonna answer. They don't support old os anymore (even a more recent one like win8). My case is hopeless.

you are complaing about that you cant play a modern game without the right supported OS. When you want play modern Games you have to change the OS or it will be more difficult for you to play anything
