Tips for a good game as Spain.

for those who want to play Spain next time, here's some tips. Step one: build up industry and use luxury in textile and furniture buy things and build government admin if necessary. step 2: make a base in central america. Basically just attack a defenseless central american nation with no friends. make sure its Costa rica so you border new Granada/Colombia. step 3: make stonks. Basically you just have to puppet every independent nation in south america (Brazil not included) make sure at the start you used Portugal's obligation for a defense pact or alliance. and also make sure you improved relations with France and Britain. If you decided to build a big colonial empire in Congo and other regions. Make sure you have civilizing since you can build panama by buying it from your subject Colombia (you will still make good money probably) if a colonial subject becomes communist its completely good. Countries will start wars against you and if they are small countries like the Netherlands like in my game you can do a protectorate play since your the defender. make sure you call in France (and Britain if necessary) for me Prussia joined in this was all after something very important for the guide tho. STEP 4: Iberia and scamming Portugal! 1st of all if Portugal has a war they consider "important" usually civil wars, secession's etc even if the enemy has low troops and Portugal can win easily the AI is complicated and if Portugal has any alliance with you. AND I MEAN ANY, you can just make them into a subject. your alliance will break giving a slight truce for 12 months but after that you can make Portugal into a dominion. That means you get to form Iberia. If Portugal was in another market you can also try and get them in your market. that can help if they also had market benefits that means.. MONEY!! step 5: (if Netherlands gets mad about your communist colonial puppet) take them back!. Basically if Netherlands AI uses regime change on a communist colonial puppet or any communist puppet that borders them they will become scared and attack it usually. If your on the defense of a diplomatic play war goals will be heavily reduced in infamy. so protectorating around the 1900s of the Netherlands usually costs 8-12 infamy as a defensive player. call in France and basically win. if Netherlands has allies like Prussia just call in Britain like I already mentioned and make sure you have multiculturalism and woman's suffrage before 1910. If Netherlands has enacted state atheism get rid of it quickly so you wont have to assimilate it when they are your subject. Also you probably already became purple guy Spain and got total separation. Make sure your trade unions or any social democrat politician helps you get rights for workers. Why not to try befriend britain and rush full army build to conquer all france? This is an easy task if you can time correctly even without a britain, cause they are constantly in some rebelion. Just force france to release some nations, then take em all 1 by 1 =) and barely anyone will ever help em

releasing countries to subjugate them is more efficient. and France has really good diplomacy with others. you can just make money off your south american subjects. OR you can do british empire strategy where your puppets have insane military to help you not to mention the age of caudillos will affect all your subjects down in south america. you can edit the strategy in any way you want. but you have to be prepared for some things
