Generals and their IG groups
OK, I'm lost. :)

Whenever I click to create a commander, I get a selection of three generals. They are almost invariably from the military and landowner interest groups.

How do I need to structure, what do I need to structure to get more generals from, say, the intelligentsia? On Reddit I saw the helpful advice of hire then fire and cycle through until you chance upon one, but each sacking of a general reduces their IG approval. Would it help if I bankrupted my country by employing half the workforce in universities?

Any ideas?

Different IGs have different commander weight (for random chance):
1. Armed Forces have 5
2. Landowners have 2
3. Intelligentsia, Devout, Bourgeoisie and Rural Folk have 1
4. Industrialists and Unions have 0.5

There are also constant modifiers like for their age and being from same IGs. For example, they are removed from recruit pool at 55 age.

I'm not aware of other modifiers, so if they don't exists, you can't do anything, but to know, that Intelligentsia commander will be pretty rare.

One possibility is trying to marginalize AF - maybe they won't be in the pool because of that. But I highly doubt that is realistic to do.

In my games it always seems to give additional chances to the IGs in the government, but the only way to open up a new slot in the set of three is to hire one or wait for one to die. I also seem to get a wider variety of IGs for Admirals than Generals, but that could just be confirmation bias.

Thank you. I found the 55 age in defines, but where are the 5/2/1/0.5 weights defined?

NM: It's in the interest_groups folder.

Thank you again. :)
