Prussia vs Austria
Can anyone confirm if Prussia is now much more likely to lose against Austria in the war for "German Dominance", if both are AI-controlled?

Somehow, Austria can easily withstand Prussian skirmish infantry with their massed, yet outdated line infantry, and is also able to replenish their losses at a ridiculous speed. Since Prussia is eager to launch a campaign against Austria as soon as possible, even by joining a side which opposes Austria, they clash withhin a few years after the game start. However, the front usually stalls, causing Prussia to lose. Even if Prussia gets an ally like Russia, they still cannot defeat Austria.

Is that another "feature" introduced by the new patch?

Same in my newest campaign. AI Prussia attacks Austria, they get France and Russia (me) as allies, yet the fronts are still stuck. I've even tried a naval invasion, but that front also stalls after a few initial successes. Now, after two years, the first minor german states are quitting the war.

Even savescumming isn't effective, and now, I'm seriously considering savegame editing. Well, that's normal for when you play a beta.

Anyway, can you recommend me a good console access mod? This game needs some constant debugging on the fly.

German unification seems to be broken in terms of wargoals. Unification should cost more points and countries should't add those province changes to wargoals or it sgould cost much more. That province conquering wasn't historical case and also Prussia seems to choose often provinces, what don't make sense (Tyrol or Styria etc). Those provinces are isolated after conquered.

Yes, they add Tyrol every time.

today I use Prussia defeated Austria and form North Germany, my 75 X3 + small states + UK + France + Russia

OK, having all three great powers at your side is utter overkill.

I tried to replay it again. Not only can Austria replentish troops way too fast, Prussia also seems to engage them only in small skirmishes. There are two huge defending Austrian stacks vs 6 smaller Prussian ones, everyone is still at half manpower, yet the battles are between 5 to 9 units. WTF? Yet, when I advance, the Austrians almost always meet me with superior numbers, despite my numerical advantage. The generals also seem to advance away from the designated target. The combat system is utterly broken...

Game mechanics are overwhemlingly in favor of defender

The intention, however, was for Prussia to win, as it happened in history. They even have the better tech. However, now, even Prussia PLUS two great powers have almost no chances of winning.

Okay, even plain cheating, namely, upgrading all my (russian) line infantry to skirmish infantry, doesn't help at all. So two great powers, Russia and France, together with Prussia, all armed with the most modern weaponry, can't defeat the austrian line infantry. WTF!?

I won as Prussia with UK and France on my side against Austria and Russia.

Though tbf, Austria surrendered during the diplomatic game.

Well, that a wholly different story. Russia is somehow severly underpowered, I can't even replentish my troops. Two and a half great powers against one should be winnable. It's the Austrians who are utterly OP.

The defense values for infantry are too high as of now, leading to stalemates in every war even before trench infantry

Yes, Prussia finally managed to take out Austria with the help of England and me (Russia). I had to mass artillery and lancers and open a second front through a naval invasion. Even then, it was a WW1-esque grindfest over the span of two years. The devs really need to balance this out.
