but I managed to fight a war against moldavia and the wargoal was "independence" ? It was really weird, all I did was beat up moldavia and they became independent from Russia, I didn't have to deal with Russia at all.
After all of this, Moldavia and I went into a personal union through an event and after 10 years of this peaceful union Romania formed,
I even got my living standards to #1 in the world lol
Beat Russia and took Bessarabia but I couldn't defeat the Austrians even with the French helping me (theyre a little op atm)
To become independent of the Ottomans I am not 100% sure if the Ottomans get an event, or if it is when you grow your GDP enough or something. Anyway you can get free at some point without any fighting.
Now, to get Transylvania is a whole another matter, you will see why WWI had to happen... good luck :)
And thank you Centipede for your answer, that was exactly what i was looking for. For the automated independence i am quite sure that is the 20 year "sick man of europe" counter on the ottomans side and when there failing to reform, (almost?) all of there protectorates will be free.
But thank you both for your detailled answers, have a nice weekend.
Romania was indeed formed in a mysterious way - as a weak nation at the whims of empires, it owes its existence to astute diplomatic shenanigans. Not many Romanians nowadays can appreciate how unlikely our country's birth was.
I feel like the mystery makes it a fun campaign to try in Vicky3, it was my learning playthrough.
