location matters now, for transport, and other things.
built loads of logging camps in a state? well the local price is likely to be lower, making it the ideal place for furniture factories.
building railroads in new york will change the local price there, but not in other states.
market access is not simply a transport availability as it used to be.
I'm not fully up to speed on this myself, but location matters like it did in V2. i see some youtube vids in my future to see how it all works now.
