Cannot win starting wars as Brazil (beta 1.5.5)

This could easily be me having a brain fart, however, in the current beta build 1.5.5. No matter what I do I cannot win my initial wars. With one army it is impossible as you can fight on one front but your other front allows the enemy to walk all over your land.

STUFF WOT I HAZ DUN:

1. Create a second army, use all the conscripts - activate them all. The first army gets it's ass kicked anyway, the second army gets defeated in detail as it takes too long to get all it's units together to fight effectively leading to a fail cascade.

2. Make a second army as above, split the starting units between the two armies and activate all the conscripts again. Actually worse than 1 as neither army is cap[able of doing anything.

3. Doing either 1 or 2, do not move the army to the front until they are fully mobilised with all their units in place. Enemies walk all over the country and I lose as my exhaustion hits -100 in a few months before I can do anything.

4. In addition to above I have maxed military wages to get the bonuses from that - makes little difference, but might be effective long term.

I've watched AI Brazil a few times now and it always peaces out these wars, it has never won them.

Assuming this is a problem with the beta, but if I've missed something I'd really appreciate some advice as I'm tearing my hair out.

Judging by me messing around with starting wars at game start.. I think it has to do with the screwy new organization mechanic they have for armies since it basically starts at zero at game start and goes up slowly.. Even small armies can can beat armies 2 or 3 times their size.. its weird

Brazil does not start with weapon factories so you need to put interest in france or other great power's home to import guns.
Also infantry in beta is now way more defensive. So make a smaller army which invites the enemy to attack them and only counterattack when the enemy is whittled down.

didn't have a issue by splitting the army in 2 stacks of 10 units send one each way put navy out to sea and sat back pirani held northern area fell, then 2 units of 10 on pirani and win. but that's just my playthrough

This is what you need to do.
1st. Use both armies given to you and immediately attack the south with both.
2nd Raise an army from the Conscripts you have and use them to play defensivly on the nation to the north.

Or you can cheat and choose to play as either nation cause them to forfeit the war against Brazil. That's what I had to do for Texas because After restart and restart their army sucked
