So what makes a country unique in this game.
anything, apart from different stat. Any new mechanic for different country.

Like pretty much every other PDS game, the game at launch allows us to play any nation/faction in the world from the get go. That's why there's no unique flavour in their base games. I don't find this to be any better in any of their other games and I've played them all since EU2 and HOI1.

The only game I am aware of where the entire 'world' wasn't playable on launch was CK2. if you wanted to play as a muslim nation, DLC.

My preference, emphasis on MY, is that they make most of the map unplayable (or 'cut content' as some would have it) at launch so that the top 10 or 20 nations are all fleshed out and have their own unique feel and add new, playable factions up with PAID DLC.
Heart of iron have cool focus tree and general and such.
EU4 have unique modifier for various country.

What this game have?
buy and sell ?
tax and politics button ?
Thats one for all template?
I don't see how this game is a step up from other game that born before this game and actually cheaper.

UI is better but is nothing compare to Endless space 2 , human kind and such,.

HoI4 has like 7 years post release development. Have you played it in 2016?

Countless things.

That said, don't buy the game, anyone. Very scummy DLC practises and always releasing games unfinished.

Some examples of uniqueness:
-Some pops have unique "obsessions" like the chinese with opium, the french with wine etc, while all muslims have "taboos" for alcohol. This makes it an interesting mechanic because your pops need drugs like they need heating and clothing and food.
-Countries have unique events, journal entries (which are kind of like quests), geographical and geopolitical starting differences, and amount of discriminated pops vs. accepted pops, endless paths to take.
-literally no two countries are the same

I could go on but you dismissed the game from one guy saying no while being wrong so why bother.

Flavour = DLC. You just have to be a pay piggy for papa PDX, he will look after you long time :D
Shintai 10 SEP 2023 a las 12:37 a. m.
Agree, all countries are completely the same. DLC is the only change.

if you discount all the things that are different about the starting situation, then, yes, there's little difference between any of the starts, just like all their other games with the posible exception of HOI4 which has unique National Focus trees for the majors. (The rest came with DLC.)

Wow, did this thread go a million different ways other than what the OP said. If his question was addressed, no one would have brought up HOI 4. Compare 1936 Germany with Ethiopia or any minor country since its release.., come on, massive differences. The focus trees are only a small part of HOI 4. I did not buy VIC 3, but I have been following. I sort of feel like modern day politics was injected into the development of VIC 3 in that "everyone is the same" crap. No matter, this game was dead in the water at start when every country has the same chances and military means little. Go woke, go broke.

Patch 1.5.

With 1.5 we FINALY get diversity in the form of Companies. Prussia WILL be a massive landforce, one that beating will be hard, GB will most likely get the Vickers naval yard (atm. only prussia has 2 unique ones (Krupp and Rheinmetal) making the brits a naval force to be feared (thou realy? Japan will get that too. You dont mess with the Kure Naval Yard or Yokosuka). Also modder will LOVE that new system

bro... companies are just *click and forget* stat boost you want and some of effectiveness throughput, thats it

some will be historically named and have a bit better stat boost
wow so special

its literally like relics in imperator: rome

its insignificant, you interact with it only at the beginning of the game and 2-3 more times during playthrough, thats it

and most likely you will take same companies every playthrough cause only a few have good stat boosts, like food industry one giving birth rate

but that doesnt mean diversity and it doesnt mean more things to do, its literally almost nothing

Thanks for that info Dinomight. I do not have the game, but those things mentioned did sound like nothing. I think what I am seeing is the people that like VIC 3 have no experience with HOI 4 or VIC 2. If they did, they would not like what they see here. I guess what I am saying is is that to the people that like VIC 3, they would totally love HOI 4 and maybe VIC 2.

I am a veteran from Vic2 and HoI4 and i am very glad the game moved out of those ♥♥♥♥♥♥ games, instead of planning and strategy HoI4 is about clicking real fast on 50 different things at the same time and exploiting the AI to do Luxenbourg World Conquest and Vic2 is farm prestige so weird international market system don't just ♥♥♥♥ you over without access to any goods and combat that again consist only of exploting the AI with a unrewarding amount of micro on late game that just made playing the game a chore.

Yeah, i will stick with a game that the combat isn't just about clicking fast and exploiting the AI, a market system that actually works and political mechanics that do any actual difference that is Vic3

Sorry but that's a BS claim. I have played HOI since HOI1 was released and Vic since Vic 1 was released. (Admittedly there was quite a long lay-off between my last playthrough of Vic 2 and Vic 3)

Why do people post this nonsense? Are they completely unable to believe that anyone who played those games couldn't like Vic 3? I understand people not liking Vic 3 but why make **** like that up?

You can play Vic 2 like that if you want to. You don't have to.

You don't have to play Vic3 the same way everytime, but here we are on a "what makes a country unique" thread...

Honestly with the way the political and market system of Vic3 works it offers way more diversity in strategies than Vic2
