Tips for playing Hanover and becoming a middle power

I recently got gifted Vic3 and want to play my home region. I find it very hard to become a middle power to confederate with Oldenburg, Braunschweig, Bremen, Hamburg and maybe Schaumburg-Lippe or Lippe for their sulfur.

I usually don't have many problems increasing the GDP, that goes just fine. I really have difficulties though to increase the QoL, especially for workers. Does anyone have some tips how I can better this? Maybe have some recommendations on what industry I could focus, how to gain more prestige and how exactly I can spread out my buildings?

When building your industry, you can boom your GDP while also raising SoL with your pop groups by focusing your industrial growth to cover the goods your pop groups consume to keep those prices low. Less pop groups have to pay for goods, the more disposable income they have, the higher their SoL is.

You can hover of your various pop group classes and get a tooltip with the average price they pay for goods. Hover over this to get the breakout of what they're paying for each good they demand. Don't forget to also provide alternative goods and luxury goods for your pop groups too.
